What can you expect?

What can you expect as a student at Filton?

You will have a personal tutor to help and advise on your progress and to help with key skills and progression.
You and your parents (if under 19) will be invited to progress evenings and you will receive a written progress report.
You will be offered careers guidance, one-to-one learning support in the learning centres, welfare, counselling, accommodation and in class support, where appropriate. There are fully qualified dyslexia staff working within the Learning Centres and we have a close working relationship with the Bristol Dyslexia Centre.
You will receive help with applications for university and/or employment.

Wake Up - It’s a Beautiful Morning

For full-time students the College day runs from 9.15am to late afternoon (the end of the day varies between 3.45pm and 4.55pm during the week). Students must be in college when they have classes and the College is strict about attendance and punctuality.

Unlock your Potential with Skills Development

Skills Development is an integral part of many courses at Filton College. We have a new suite of rooms dedicated to the learning, practice and support of Skills Development for full-time students.

What we offer:

Advice, support and guidance from trained staff as well as appropriate resources.
Materials and help to support stand-alone key skills can also be found in the two college flexible learning centres.
Help with Basic Skills is also provided. The College has recently been awarded the BSQI quality “Charter Mark”.

At Filton you are Encouraged to Work, Rest and Play!

Anyone enrolled at Filton College can automatically use any Student Union facilities. As a member of the Students Union, you can:

Receive a variety of discounts on items and services.
Attend Student Union events from gigs and balls to parties and charity events.
Participate in a range of enrichment events including: Parachute Jumping, Aromatherapy, Water Skiing, Go Karting, and Paint-balling, plus a wide variety of holidays and foreign trips.

Destinations to date have included New York, Amsterdam, London, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, and Newquay!
