How to apply
Step 1: Attend a College Open Event
Before you apply you may wish to attend a college open event. These are the perfect opportunity to visit the College and to meet with subject specialists who will advise you of the appropriate course.
Step 2: Application
Complete an application form and bring it with you, as soon as possible,
to the College, or send it to us:
Admissions Office, Filton College, Filton Avenue, Bristol BS34 7AT
Contact us on 0117 931 2121 if you have any questions.
Step 3: Interview
You will be invited to come for an informal interview to:

Discuss the possibilities open to you/your parents/guardians (friends can come)

Find out about the College and facilities

Discuss your interests and career plans
We start interviewing in late October/November for courses which start the following September.
Step 4: Offer
We will offer you a place on a course, which may be conditional on your getting certain entry qualifications. There will be staff available to discuss this and further options if you are still not sure what you wish to do.
Step 5: Acceptance
You will receive an acceptance form from the College to say you have been accepted at interview. This form should be returned to Filton College Admissions Office to secure your place.
Step 6: College Visit
During the summer term you’ll be invited into the College with other students who have been offered places giving you the opportunity to see the facilities the College has to offer.
Step 7: FIZ - Filton’s Information Zone
In July you will receive a copy of your course outline that we hope you will find both informative and interesting.
Step 8: Joining Instructions
Joining instructions will be sent to you in August by your teaching team.
Step 9: The BIZ
You will receive the BIZ in August, this gives you more details about induction, tutorials and life as a student at Filton College.
Step 10: Exam Results
If you pass the exams, you’ve got a place. Don’t worry if you haven’t got the grades you expected, please talk to us about alternative courses available. We hope we have something for everyone!
Step 11: Induction
You will be invited in to the College in September for an induction, before
your course starts. This will help you to familiarise yourself with the College,
your tutor and other students on the same course. It will also be an opportunity
to join the Students’ Union and attend our ‘Freshers Day’.
