David Allen is the Staff Governor at Filton High School and has been a governor of Filton College since July 2002. Formerly employed as UK Sales Manager of a water treatment company he became a teacher in 1997 and taught at St Julians School in Newport . He moved to Filton High School as Head of Chemistry in 2001. |
Solomon Fubara is Managing Director of the Centre for Employment and Enterprise Development, Bristol . A graduate in land surveying, Nigeria , he also holds a variety of postgraduate qualifications in marketing and business administration and has lectured in international marketing at City of Bath College. He joined Filton College Corporation in October 2003. |

Therese Gillespie is Director of Education for South Gloucestershire and has been a member of Filton College Corporation since October 1990. A graduate of Queens University Belfast, she has worked in various areas of education since 1974, including the Department of Education for Northern Ireland, the former Food, Drink and Tobacco Industry Training Board, Bristol Polytechnic and Avon County Council. |

Kevin Hamblin was appointed Principal and Chief Executive of Filton College in December 2002. Born in Nottingham , he left school at 16 and undertook a Mining Engineering Apprenticeship with British Coal before becoming a Colliery Training Officer. In 1989, he started a BA (honours) degree in Business at Wolverhampton Business School whilst being a sponsored student and working with BAA Gatwick Airport Limited personnel and training department. On completion of the degree, he worked as commercial manager then commercial director of a private training company before becoming Head of Open Learning at Swindon College in 1997. This led to a role as Head of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Systems Engineering at Swindon before becoming Vice Principal at Hartpury College , Gloucestershire in 1999. |

Keith Hicks is Head of Marketing and Communications at the University of the West of England and has been a governor of the College since October 2003. A graduate of the University of Bradford he has worked for a variety of major companies, including Lloyds TSB and Prudential Assurance. His early career was in sales and later developed into marketing and communications. |
Robert Hosie is the Student Governor and President of the Student Union. He is also South West Further Education representative on the Student Union National Council and has been an active campaigner on national student issues. An ex-Serviceman and football coach he originally joined the Student Union executive as Disabilities Officer and has been active in raising disability issues in the College. He is currently undertaking an Access course in Social Sciences. |

John Huggett has been Chair of Filton College Corporation since February 2002 and was previously Vice-Chair from 1998. Born in 1944 he attended St George Grammar School Bristol and whilst undertaking a Student Apprenticeship with the British Aircraft Corporation he attended Bristol College of Science and Technology followed by the London Business School . A Chartered Engineer he has held various senior positions within the aerospace industry. He has always shown a keen interest in training and development and is a mentor for graduates. . |

Roger Hutchinson has been chair of Filton Town Council since 1996 and a member of South Gloucestershire Council, where he currently chairs the Planning, Transport and Strategic Environment Select Committee, since 1995. Following training as an electrician with British Rail he worked as a trade union official and a Labour Party Regional Organiser. He joined Filton College Corporation in October 2002. |

Richard O'Hanlon has been a governor since 1996. Born in 1950 he was educated at Sherborne School and the College of Estate Management before qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor and practising in London . He moved to King Sturge in Bristol in 1982 and is now a partner in that firm. |

David Lascelles is a chartered aeronautical engineer and holds Fellowships with The Royal Aeronautical Society and The Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He currently works at the Defence Procurement Agency at MOD Abbey Wood as an Integrated Project Team Leader responsible for a wide portfolio of defence projects. He has been a governor since May 2002. He has a particular interest in training and education and acts as a mentor within MOD. |

Dominic Macdonald is an independent management consultant with a background in commercial and management roles in the automotive and financial services industries. A graduate of Cranfield University School of Management and a former student in a Further Education college, he has also lectured in automobile engineering subjects. He has been a governor since October 2003. |

Chris Newman is Director of Student Services at Filton College and was elected Staff governor in January 2001. Although his first degree ( Bristol University ) was in Aeronautical Engineering he also completed an MA in Mathematics at Bath University and an MEd at Cardiff . He has taught Mathematics at all levels including at the State University of New York. He has previously held various appointments at Filton College and is currently responsible for providing access for all students to appropriate programmes, for supporting them while on their courses and for providing help and guidance to enable them to reach their full potential. |

Dorothy Thomas joined Filton Corporation in September 2001. She was born in Australia in 1941 but has spent almost all of her life in the UK . She retired in 2000 as Deputy head of Hanham High School following a career as a teacher of French and Spanish. Her responsibilities have included running language faculties, developing projects for language diversification, new GCSE and A Level initiatives and delivery of teacher in-service training. |

Richard Turton, formerly Principal Lecturer University of Hertfordshire Business School. Currently researching vocational education and training and business strategy in England and France ; he trained originally in banking. He has lectured and examined in Public Policy, European Integration and Organisational Behaviour in Sweden , Germany , Hungary and Romania . He has examined A Level Sociology and was external examiner in Business and Management Studies at three Universities in England and Wales . |

John Woodgate is a former Technical Manager with Hewlett Packard. A graduate in Computer Science from Hatfield Polytechnic he has since completed a postgraduate diploma in Management Studies at the University of the West of England. A Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institute of Analysts and Programmers and Member of the British Computer Society he has held various appointments in the IT industry. He is a former student of Filton College and is a qualified motorcycle instructor. He currently works for a local charity for the disabled. |
